Kenmore Appliance Repair in New Jersey

Kenmore appliances were made for Sears by a variety of major manufacturers (Whirlpool, GE, LG, Frigidaire, and others), so correctly identifying who actually built a specific unit matters. Our technicians know how to do that and repair Kenmore refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges, and ovens of any generation.

Common Kenmore Appliance Problems and How to Prevent Them

Kenmore refrigerators inherit the typical weak points of whichever manufacturer built them, but the most common issue across the board is the auto-defrost system — a failed defrost heater or timer lets frost build up on the back wall. Kenmore washers are prone to drive belt wear (on top-load models) and drain filter clogs from small items left in pockets. Kenmore dryers most often come in for a clogged vent duct and worn drum rollers, which cause a squealing or grinding noise. Kenmore dishwashers commonly need a new detergent dispenser or door seal, which can let water leak out. Kenmore gas ranges and ovens frequently have failing ignition modules and thermostats, especially in units over 10 years old.

Since Kenmore units were built by different manufacturers, knowing the model number helps a technician identify the actual maker and its typical weak points. General upkeep still applies across the board: clean the refrigerator's filter and gaskets twice a year, avoid overloading the washer, clean the dryer vent duct at least once a year and the lint filter after every load. On the dishwasher, watch the door seal for early signs of leaking and replace it as soon as it wears out. For the range and oven, check the ignition system once a year and clear burner ports of carbon buildup with a fine needle as needed.
